MILAN DESIGN WEEK

Since 2003, Maarten Baas has exhibited at the annual Art & Design event 'Salone del Mobile' in Milan. His solo exhibitions are known to be provocative, humorous and ground-breaking. It lead to various awards and nominations. This website is still under construction, so we will update the pictures of other shows. MORE OR LESS, 2023.

Denim brand G-Star approached Maarten for a collaboration by using their re-used jeans for a new purpose. Since Maarten didn't want to be part of the green suggestion of this re-use program, he decided to create a private jet of recycled jeans.

"Each year in Milan, I enjoy the tragicomic dialogue between green design and mass-consumption. When G-star approached me to work with recycled jeans, this was the perfect opportunity to address this curious dilemma instead of the just acting as if we’re saving the world. We’re well on our way.
